The only software I know of that runs sort of well on those macbooks is FCP7. Resolve is constantly being developed to push the limits of current hardware, and to meet editors expectations so each version has its own quirks. Do not expect it to be entirely bug free. But I recall using Resolve on one for a project. The 2011 MacBook Pro was pretty limited performance wise.
